What You Need to Know About Marciano Art Foundation

Marciano Art Foundation is a non-profit arts foundation that is located in Wilshire Boulevard which is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. The foundation was earlier known as Maurice and Paul Marciano art Foundation. It is important to know that the foundation was brought to existence by two brothers and the co-founder of Guess that is Paul Marciano and Maurice Marciano on 25th of May 2017. The museum all started as an exhibition area where they could show thousands of contemporary art pieces.

The Marcianos came from Marseille which is found in the southern side of France to Los Angeles one time for a vacation. However, after spending a week and so in California, they came to realize that this is one of the best places they have been dreaming of in their lives. They took it as an opportunity to live their American dream. Paul and his brothers have always loved art and artistic works since they were young but it got another dimension when he led the advertising and marketing team of GUESS. He was the guy behind the black and white ad campaigns that put GUESS on the map. Paul was also responsible to find the next top models that featured in the campaigns and later gained fame.

Paul Marciano love for art made him work together with his brother Maurice Marciano to collect unique pieces of artwork. It is in 2013 after a recommendation by Alex Israel who is also an artist that the Marciano Art Foundation decided to buy the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple in the Wilshire Boulevard. They decided to make it the home for their artistic works and artists as well and made it possible for anyone to have access to anyone who loves art.

It is important to know that most of the collection at Marciano Art Foundation has been amassed after 2010. By now, the foundation is proud to own works by various artist such as Christopher Wool, Alex Israel, Yael Bartana, Mai-Thu Perret, Rudolf Stingel, Wade Guyton, and Adrian Villar Rojas among others. The building which is over one hundred and ten thousand feet tall has over four floors over is one of a kind. Since it was purchased, there is the need to know that the building has been transformed into the exhibition space it is today by Kulapat Yantrassat who is a contemporary architect of Why Architecture and Design. As one enters the building, there is a large Garden which features works by Danh VO, Oscar Tuazon among others.
